This is a night to raise a glass three times over: to Ben turning fifty, to the home we’ve made on this beautiful stretch of the Peloponnese, and to everything the next chapter holds. Expect long tables, warm light, good music, Greek food and wine in generous supply, and a dance floor under the stars.
Come ready to eat well, dance late, and stay for one more drink than you planned. There are no speeches to sit through — just an evening made for catching up with the people we love most, in the place we now call home.
Getting to the party: the villa is a short drive from Nafplio old town. We’ll arrange evening transport options for guests staying in town — tell us what you need on the RSVP form. The exact address will be shared with confirmed guests closer to the date.
Dress Code
Mediterranean elegance, touched by gold
Think Greek summer evening: linen and silk, soft whites, sand and olive tones, deep blues that match the night sky — finished with a glint of gold. A necklace, a pocket square, a sandal strap, a shimmer of thread; one golden touch is all it takes. Dress to feel wonderful and to dance until late. The evening is outdoors, so a light layer for after midnight is a good idea.

Where to Stay
Rooms with a view
Nafplio fills up quickly in July — we’d recommend booking as soon as your travel is confirmed. All of these are in or near the old town, an easy base for the party and the rest of your stay.

Getting There
The road to Nafplio
Flights & airports
Fly into Athens International (ATH) — well served from across Europe and beyond. Nafplio is roughly a two-hour drive from the airport. Kalamata (KLX) is a seasonal alternative, about two hours away on the other side of the Peloponnese.
Car hire & transfers
Hiring a car at Athens airport is the easiest way to explore — all the major firms have desks there. Prefer not to drive? Private transfers to Nafplio can be pre-booked, and the KTEL coach runs from Athens to Nafplio several times a day.
Driving directions
From Athens airport, follow the motorway west towards Corinth, cross the Corinth Canal, then take the exit for Argos / Nafplio. It’s a smooth, scenic run — allow around two hours, and pack coins or a card for the tolls.
On the night
The villa is a short drive from the old town. We’re arranging evening shuttle options for guests staying in Nafplio, and taxis are easy to pre-book. Let us know your plans on the RSVP form and we’ll make sure everyone gets home safely — however late.

Greece’s first capital is one of its loveliest towns — Venetian balconies, marble lanes, and the sea on three sides. A few of our favourites:
Eat & drink

- Aiolos Tavern for classic Greek dishes on a lively lane.
- Mediterraneo for seafood by the harbour.
- Antica Gelateria di Roma — the best gelato outside Italy, no debate.
- Sunset drinks along the Arvanitia promenade.
Beaches
- Arvanitia — a pebbled cove a five-minute walk from town.
- Karathona — a long, sandy, family-friendly bay with tavernas.
- Tolo — shallow, warm water, fifteen minutes by car.
- Kondyli & Plaka (Drepano) — quieter sands worth the short drive.
Attractions & day trips
- Climb (or drive) to the Palamidi Fortress for the best view in the Argolid.
- Boat across to the Bourtzi sea fortress.
- The ancient theatre of Epidaurus — 30 minutes away, catch a summer festival performance if you can.
- Mycenae, home of Agamemnon — 30 minutes north.
- Wine tasting in Nemea, Greece’s great red-wine country.
With the family
- Pedal boats and sandcastles at Karathona beach.
- The little train that loops the old town.
- The Komboloi (worry-bead) Museum — small, quirky, kids love it.
- Gelato. Twice a day. It’s the law.

Good to know
What’s the weather like in July?
Gloriously Greek: expect 30–34 °C in the day, easing to a warm 24–26 °C in the evening, with almost no chance of rain. Pack sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat for the daytime, and something light for after midnight by the water.
Any practical advice for the trip?
Greece uses the euro and standard EU two-pin plugs. Cards are accepted almost everywhere, but a little cash is handy for beach tavernas. Tap water in Nafplio is safe, though most people prefer bottled. Pharmacies are excellent and easy to find. And the old town is cobbled — leave the stilettos for the villa terrace.
When should we book, and how do we reach you?
Book flights and rooms as early as you can — July is high season. RSVP by 30 September 2026 via the form above. For anything at all, message Ben or Shaun on WhatsApp or email us at the address below; we’re happy to help with plans, bookings and logistics.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely — this is a family-and-friends celebration and little ones are very welcome. The party runs late, so tell us on the RSVP form if you’d like help arranging babysitting in town for the evening.
Can I bring a plus one?
Invitations are for the guests named, but if there’s someone special you’d like to bring, just ask — we’ll do our best to say yes.
Is the venue accessible?
The villa is mostly on one level with step-free access to the main terrace. If you have any mobility or access needs, mention them on the RSVP form or drop us a message and we’ll make arrangements so the evening is easy for everyone.
